Senior Manager, Training

Serena Straka serves as a Senior Manager of Training with the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence where she will help lead the training and professional development between the LCAP and the California School Dashboard.

Prior to joining the CCEE, Ms. Straka served as a Program Manager, LCAP with San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. In this role, Ms. Straka worked alongside school and district administrators to explore and provide promising practices to meet district and school professional development, curriculum/instructional practice, and technical assistance needs. She provided customized support to schools and districts and facilitated work teams across departments and divisions. Ms. Straka supported districts with current LCAP information and worked with various district planning processes. She provided ongoing LCAP and California School Dashboard professional development to districts. Ms. Straka co-facilitated an Early-Adopter Professional Learning Network (EAPLN) during the CCEE pilot. In her former role, she also developed and facilitated a network for counselors in San Bernardino County and served on the educational committee for Quality Start San Bernardino.

Ms. Straka has previously served as a site administrator, teacher on special assignment, and classroom teacher. She has earned a Master of Arts degree in educational leadership from Azusa Pacific University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies from the University of Redlands.

Ms. Straka is located at San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools in San Bernardino.
